Kick-off event for the Mid-Valley Winter AgFest

FORAGE WORKSHOP

An afternoon and evening of forage (pasture and hay) and livestock information will be presented at a workshop scheduled for

The location will be Building B, Polk County Fairgrounds in Rickreall.
This will be the kick-off event for the Mid-Valley Winter AgFest which runs Saturday-Sunday. The times and presentations are as follows:

 

Forage and Livestock Resources Roundtable
2 pm to 4:30 pm
Hay, pasture and silage experts will be available to present information in an informal setting.  Workshop participants can ask questions and find resources which can be applicable to their individual forage situations.

 

Hay Evaluation and Current Livestock Issues
5-7 pm

Paying too much for hay? Livestock still thin after eating? Learn what to look for when buying hay and factors that affect hay nutrition. Learn what makes good hay and how to identify it. Participants are encouraged to bring hay samples.

Light dinner and snacks will be provided for the 5 to 7 pm session.  There is no charge for this event.
